Zen and the Pen: Upcoming Classes

Write Your Story

A 7-Week Journey into Personal Reflection

Capture the moments that shaped you. Craft a personal essay that speaks from the heart.

Class Description:

Everyone has a story worth telling. In Write Your Story, we’ll spend seven weeks crafting a personal essay that captures the heartbeat of your experience. This isn’t about writing a book or aiming for literary perfection—it’s about finding the words that speak to your truth, in a way that’s clear, engaging, and beautifully your own.

Whether you want to write about a lost loved one, a moment of resilience, or the discovery of your own inner strength, this class provides the space, support, and creative inspiration to bring that story to life. You don’t need to be a writer to join—you just need a story that matters to you and a willingness to explore it.

What You’ll Create:

By the end of these seven weeks, you’ll have:

  • A fully crafted personal essay that speaks directly from your heart. Not a book, not a polished manuscript—just one true, beautifully expressed story that captures a moment that matters.

  • A Repeatable Framework for Writing Other Stories. Through gentle guidance, music-inspired prompts, and reflective exercises, you’ll learn how to discover the essence of your experiences and craft them into engaging, heartfelt essays. Whether you want to write about family memories, moments of strength, or quiet reflections, you’ll leave with a step-by-step process you can use again and again.

This live class will start in Fall 2025.

From Journal to Compass

Turn your reflections into direction.

You’ve been writing—on and off, or maybe for years. But now you’re ready for something more.
You want to find meaning in the words, to understand the patterns, to use what’s inside your journal to guide what comes next.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to recognize the story threads inside your journaling—and how to transform them into a personalized “compass” you can return to again and again. Through creative prompts and guided reflection, you’ll uncover the insight your writing already holds.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A meaningful phrase or personal anchor from your writing

  • A fresh perspective on what your journal is trying to show you

  • A story seed you may want to explore more deeply

  • A sense of direction rooted in your own truth—not outside pressure

Whether you're a devoted journaler or just getting started, this workshop is designed to help you connect the dots—and start moving forward with more trust.
